Former Arsenal head coach Arsene Wenger has revealed why he didn't sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic 20 years ago.
The 39-year-old admitted that he was invited to Arsenal for negotiating about transferring but the deal was ended rapidly because the player and his agent didn't want to test his skill before signing.
Lately, Wenger told BBC: "Not really, because he was a 17-year-old boy playing at Malmo in the second league in Sweden. And nobody knew him."
"We gave trials to many players at 17 - it was absolutely normal before you make a decision." said the 70-year-old head coach.
Arsene Wenger has been an Arsenal head coach for 22 years before leaving in 2018 and he now works as Fifa's chief of global football development.
